Rufus Hound chats Doctor Who Series 9


Actor and comedian Rufus Hound has been talking to the BBC about the read-through for the episodes The Girl Who Died and The Woman Who Lived - watch an interview in the player above.  In it he reveals that his character name is Sam Swift. Hound recently starred in an episode of the recent Russell T Davies series Cucumber and was a guest on Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor, where Peter Capaldi was announced as The Twelfth Doctor.

The period adventures will see Jenna Coleman appear in the familiar orange space suit (last seen in Kill The Moon) and appears to have a Medieval theme - see some pictures from filming HERE.

The Girl Who Died and The Woman Who Lived also star Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams who has been pictured on set with a fan (pictured left). 

Both episodes are directed by Ed Bazalgette (BBC One series, Poldark) and written by Jamie Mathieson (Mummy on the Orient Express, Flatline) with Steven Moffat and Catherine Tregenna  (Torchwood, Out of Time) respectively. 

As revealed previously, actor David Schofield (Merlin) will play Odin and also appearing are: Tom Stourton (Horrible Histories), Ariyon Bakare, Simon Lipkin, Ian Conningham, Murray McArthur, Barnaby Kay, John Voce, and Struan Rodger (who voiced of the Face of Boe in 2006 and 2007).
