Doctor Who Series 9 guest star Maisie Williams has been discussing her upcoming role in the two-parter, also starring Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman. In an interview with Alan Carr, on his show Chatty Man, the Game of Thrones actress said:
"There's been a lot of speculation about whether she's like a younger Clara or whether she is a new character completely. I'm not going to tell you which one.
"Whether she is good or bad is up for discussion, I think. She does put the Doctor to the test and it's sort of a dynamic that we haven't seen before."
"It's wonderful. The set's amazing. I'm used to being part of Game of Thrones and going into something where you're a small part of something else. You don't want to hold anything up because they've got such a well-oiled machine going."
Williams will star in two period adventures -
The Girl Who Died (written by Jamie Mathieson and Steven Moffat) and
The Woman Who Lived (by Catherine Tregenna), both directed by Ed Bazalgette (BBC One’s 18th Century drama Poldark).
Also starring in the eps are comedian and actor Rufus Hound, who recently appeared in the Russell T Davies series Cucumber, Tom Stourton (Horrible Histories), Ariyon Bakare, Simon Lipkin, Ian Conningham, Murray McArthur, Barnaby Kay, John Voce, and Struan Rodger (who voiced of the Face of Boe in 2006 and 2007).
