Earlier today Triple J on ABC Radio interviewed
Peter Capaldi and
Jenna Coleman as part of the
Doctor Who World Tour stop in Australia - you can listen to the full piece
HERE.
Capaldi addresses the fact that he has previously appeared in
Doctor Who (the 2008 episode
The Fires of Pompeii), the actor states you:
"have to question who that character was in Pompeii.
Perhaps he was not who he said he was."
He adds, "The full answer is not there but the question is certainly addressed.
He's always influenced in his regenerations by those who are around
him."
Other highlights of the interview include:
• Costume ideas, including some "disastrous attempts" and "Doctor Whoodie".
• Capaldi chats about his surprise at the fan reaction in Seoul.
• Capaldi describes his Doctor as "less user friendly" and "slightly more impatient" but still "very joyful" and "very funny". And also "enthusiastic about life and world around him," and "extremely fierce."
• Jenna reveals that Series 8 won't dwell on the mystery of her "impossible girl" character.
• There's a snatch of Peter Capaldi's former band The Dreamboys from 1976 (song The Outer Limits).
• Capaldi jokes that he wants a Marshall guitar amplifier in the TARDIS.
