Eccleston live at the National

Earlier this evening, BBC Two screened Live from the National Theatre: 50 Years on Stage which featured a selection of the most memorable, groundbreaking, controversial and best-loved scenes from the company's productions over the past five decades. Christopher Eccleston, who older readers may remember played the Ninth Doctor in 2005, featured in an excerpt from The Absence of War by David Hare - watch it in the player below. The clip also includes Eccleston introducing the performance, recalling his time as an usher at the theatre. The actor, who won't be seen in The Day of the Doctor, can currently be seen in Thor: The Dark World.
